Portraits 6. Here is a steam locomotive portrait via F.R. Kern. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9900, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company as an H-8C during September of 1910, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-10S in August of 1916, and retired in November of 1949 after 39 years of faithful service. Note the Hostler on the tender's deck. "Fill 'er up, Mac!" The exact date and the location are not recorded. (#13 of 43) |
