| From Amtrak By the Numbers: This 25 car lot was built by CAF USA (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarrilesas) in Elmira Heights, NY in June 2020. They are single-level sleeping cars named in the "River" series. The car pictured is named "Saint Johns River" and numbered 62509. These cars were part of the 130 car Viewliner II order and were all delivered in Amtrak's classic Phase III paint scheme while sporting the current Amtrak "Travelmark" Logo. This series of sleeping cars are named after various rivers and eventually all Viewliner I sleepers will be renamed after rivers as well to match these cars. Via Trainweb.org |
