This is a strange photo. Although it appears to be an 0-8-0, it actually is a 2-8-0 Consolidation whose pilot truck was termporarily removed so it could serve as a yard switcher. An online source said that the pilot truck was kept handy to re-install just in case corporate inspectors would appear or road power was needed. The loco was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in October of 1904 originally as CP 2-8-0 #1603 but was renumbered in September of 1912. The loco last into the 1950's.
