Description:
FM. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide of a photo by Fred McLeod that was taken near Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, c. 1949. Photo Caption: "2-10-0, Class I-1, nearing Gallitzin after coming upgrade from Altoona. Another 2-10-0 is on the rear. Westbound train." Shown here is PRR engine #4494, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during June of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in April of 1944, and retired in March of 1953 after 30 years of service.
